Chapter 3: Joe, the Vampire Anteater

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
May 19th,
It was hot today. Well, when I went for a bike ride with my step-sister it was. Mariana is the only child from my mom’s first marriage. She is 25 years old, and she was 11 when I was born. By that time, my mom had already split up with Mariana’s father.
But anyway, when she left, I tried to fix my hair AGAIN because it just won’t stay the way I want it. It takes a lot of time to get it okay-looking. I even learned some hair-taming spells but it still doesn’t work.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I have two stories to tell. I think I’ll tell Joe’s story first, since it’s shorter and I don’t have much time.
One day, I think I was about 8 or 9, I was walking through a Demon store with my dad when I saw Joe sitting on a shelf with a row of other Joe’s. I really wanted him, so I asked my dad. He read the tag and said, “Well, it would help you practice your heating and cooling spells… Alright, I’ll get it for you.”
“Yay! Thanks, Dad! I had said. I remember hugging the toy tightly and jumping up and down all the way through the portal home.
I finally have my own portal now, in my closet. Mainly I use it to get to my boarding school. It’s called ‘’Dor K. High School’.
You might think that there wouldn’t be many students going to my school, but you’d be surprised. It’s pretty popular.
Oops, I got off subject again, didn’t i? But unfortunately I’m gonna have to tell you the story of the Elders tomorrow; as I am again out of time.
May 20th,
I’m getting straight to the story of the Elders tonight.
The Elders are a group of wizards and a witch that are like the supreme rulers of the magical community. The legend begins about 1,000,000 years ago.
The first Elder is a wizard who is smarter and more handsome than any man that you could ever dream up on your own, no offense to you dreamers. He has shaggy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. It is rumored that he can read your mind if you look straight into his eyes. I find that rather creepy myself.
The second Elder is a witch, who was originally supposed to be the first Elder’s wife, but she sold her soul to another man in an attempt to get out of marrying the first Elder. When the man found out, he threw her sold into the fiery pits of the underworld. She was dead.
The first Elder took pity on her, and even through she had broken his heart, he saved her. He gave her part if his soul so that she could live. And now, she is still alive, and as beautiful as she ever was. Her eyes are the purest green, and her long wavy hair is the color of a fawn’s fur. Her smile can break the heart of any mortal man in the world.
The third Elder is another wizard. His hair is as black as pitch, and he has eyes the color of rubies. His tall, lean figure is as fast as lightning, thus the rumor he was born from it. His attitude is mean, but supposedly once you get to know him, he’s alright.
The last Elder is yet another wizard with silver hair. It’s thin and straight, and when caught in the moonlight, it shines so bright it seems to be glowing. His eyes are also silver, and when he smiles they sparkle brighter than any diamond.
The first Elder’s name is Joel, and the brown-haired witch is named Elli. The red-eyed wizard is Kris, and the silver-haired wizard is Demetrius.
One job of the Elders is to figure out when people will die. When people are born, they are given a date for when they are supposed to die. It’s kind of like an expiration date.
But lately, with so many new babies being born each day, the Elders have been having more work to do. Sometimes, a baby can escape getting an expiration date. My cousin Ben happened to be one of those babies. He was already able to walk and talk before his parents were told when he would die.
I personally don’t like this ‘tell the parents the day their kid is gonna kick the bucket’ thing. I think it scares the parents into rash decisions, especially if the date is closer than expected and causes the kid to have a shorter lifespan than everyone else. I think the Elders should keep that piece of knowledge to themselves when they figure it out.
The Elders are also responsible for the weather, which, as I have said, has been acting very strange lately…
